Because I'm the only one on the internet who didn't get tagged. But wanted to ._.
10 things about frog art.
1.I start my sketchbooks on the last page and work my way backward. That way, when it's done the best work will be at the front, and the worst at the end. Hopefully.
2.When I was little, I used to draw triangle people. They were basically stick people, but with colored triangles for bodies, and three stick fingers and little 'L's for legs. I used to fill huge construction paper pages of these guys. I'm not sure why.
3.Drawing faces doesn't come naturally to me. They're very hard for me to visualize, and so if I'm in a rush to finish something (esp sequential) it's the first thing I'll leave out (there are times when it's unintentional and I just didn't notice).
4.I actually love drawing background and layout. However, I don't think people are as interested in seeing them, so I don't draw them so much or post when I do.
5.I have a very fragile ego. In fourth grade, my teacher, without telling me, submitted a watercolor painting I'd done to some fancy competition thing where it got third place. I was devastated and secretly swore never to draw again. Man was I a drama queen.
6.I'm still really sensitive; whenever I get compliments on my art, I just assume the person is lying. I know this can't the be the case all the time, but I can't get myself to believe otherwise.
7.Likewise, I love criticism. No one of you can hate my art any worse than I do, so it's not like you can insult me. And when I receive a really thought out critique, I think even if they don't like it, they at least care enough about me to spend their time and thoughts to help me suck less. Ya know. It's nice.
8.The best colors are red, brown and orange.
9.My dream is actually to be a linguist or a translator. I don't know why I am an art major.
10.I hate everything I've ever drawn. Everything. I don't know how to stop doing this.

Okay, a couple people know this already, but for everyone else:
I have a new account now: temporize (https://www.deviantart.com/temporize)
Partly because I get a new account every couple years anyway (I think I'm on my fourth one orz), and because so much has changed, I'm really just not the same person I was when I started this account and really when I drew most of the artwork here, but mostly because the actual frogpuff (my pet dwarf clawed frog) passed away this summer after seven long years, and it simply causes me too much psychological stress to even log in very often :C
So, I do think this is the best decision. I still have to transfer my watch list, sooo a lot of
back :D
Hey, so, school is out for the semester and I am now less dead than I was. And look, only a little over 300 messages to look through!
So how have you all been doing?
Unrelated, would anyone happen to have HQ tank scans of Hunter x Hunter vol 23 and by willing to send them to me? If you do this, I promise to draw you hxh fanart =D

Yah? So this is sort of exciting, as we've only been waiting ten+ years.
So those few of you who know how awesome this is, go spread the word, tell your friends, and we'll drum up some support for this sadly underappreciated work of awesome.
Now, I'm off to go bitch at Viz for not using the new and inexplicably hot kanzenban covers.
Hey, dA-- I haven't forgotten you guys! I've just been eaten by school. One day maybe I'll be back ;A;

What is the character you've drawn the most? (Can be original or fanart)
Wren.
What colour do you often use?
Reds or oranges.
Any colour you are bad at using?
Purple. Blue, green, dark yellow. Cooler colors I don't like. I think a lot of people don't..?
When drawing people, where do you start?
Circle for the head, line for the shoulders and line for the spine. Once I get the basic directions down, I start filling in the shapes and anatomy of the torso to help where the hips and legs would fall, then add simple lines for those. It's sort of a balance between starting with an entire gesture (which for me, lo

backgrounds can be cool! there are a lot of purely environmental artists. if ur not good at faces then you should definitely try stuff like fantasy landscapes, buildings, interiors, that sort of thing. There are lots of really good artists who seldom draw people/animals
